Amidst Oklahoma's Wildfires, Kaleo is Making a Difference. Here's how.

March 2025 has been an exceptionally challenging month for Oklahomans, as devastating wildfires swept across the state, leaving destruction and hardship in their wake. On March 14, fueled by high winds and dry conditions, over 130 fires erupted, consuming more than 170,000 acres and destroying over 300 homes. Tragically, these fires resulted in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries, prompting Governor Kevin Stitt to declare a state of emergency for 12 counties.

In the face of this crisis, first responders—both volunteer and professional—have worked tirelessly to protect communities and manage evacuations. Recognizing their immense dedication and the critical nature of their work, The Kaleo Foundation has stepped up to provide essential support. While not directly involved in firefighting efforts, Kaleo has supplied food and hydration to over ten thousand first responders actively battling the blazes. This assistance ensures that those on the front lines have the sustenance needed to continue their arduous tasks.

Community members collecting resources for affected children have also been gathering Hope Packs and additional drinks to distribute to first responders in their local areas. This collaborative effort underscores the unity and resilience of Oklahomans during these trying times. Fire chiefs across the state have been instrumental in spreading the word about Kaleo’s support, leading to a significant increase in daily requests and pickups by various means.

In these challenging times, the support from donors and volunteers is more crucial than ever. Contributions to The Kaleo Foundation directly translate into aid for first responders and affected families across Oklahoma. By donating or volunteering, individuals can play a vital role in sustaining these relief efforts and fostering hope within the community.
